Introduction

The IBSL Library has a resourceful collection of study materials covering study packs, subject related books, general readings, question papers with suggested answers and periodicals. It provides one of the main educational support services for the banking students and the Bankers island wide.

Resources

The library has a unique collection of important reading materials ranging from books and journals to study packs on various subjects relevant to Banking and Finance. The reference section consists of complete collection of recommended readings including latest international publications for professional programmes and certificate courses. All the registered students of IBSL are eligible to use the library facility. The students may borrow books and periodicals upon obtaining the membership of the library. All the examination past papers & suggested answers, Government publications, collection of important press clippings and Bank Annual reports are available in the reference section.

Open all 7 days - 8.15 a.m. to 4.15 p.m.

Open on public holidays during examination period.

• All registered students of IBSL
• Life & Associate Members
• IBSL Resource Panel
• University students / researchers and any other special readers - Reference facility with a special permission for a short period.

Facilities

• Reference, Lending, Reading Rooms (with Wi-Fi & A/C facilities)
• E-Library
• Providing e-resources in collaboration with the Library and Information Centre of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
(Students can be requested their information needs on e-journal articles via email library@ibsl.lk)
• Sharing weekly news bulletins under the Current Awareness Service of the library.

The members of the above categories can use the Reference Facilities and Reading room facilities in the IBSL Library free of charge.

To obtain the borrowing rights of the library, the eligible persons should get the Library membership.

Obtaining the Library Membership for Borrowing

All the IBSL Registered members (Students/ Life/Associate members) are required to make a refundable deposit of LKR 2500.00 to obtain the library membership for borrowing facilities. The payment can be made through My IBSL

Refund of Library Deposit

The students may request the refund of the deposit if he/she no longer wishes to continue with the borrowing facility or when he/she completes the studies at IBSL.

Damage/ Loss of Library books/materials

• Members must report the loss of library materials immediately to the library. The lost books can be replaced with a similar book or latest edition of the same.

• Any book not returned in response to a final overdue notice would be considered as lost and the user will be required to pay the replacement cost.

Fine

• Students must return the borrowed book at the end of the lending or extension period.

• Failing to return the issued books/ materials on or before the due date a fine will be imposed – LKR 20.00 per day.
